Senior Adult Ministry

O God, from my youth you have taught me,

and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.

So even to old age and gray hairs,

O God, do not forsake me,

until I proclaim your might to another generation,

your power to all those to come.

Psalm 71:17-1

Vision Statement

The Senior Adults of First Baptist Church seek to exemplify Christ by loving one another, leading by example, and lighting the world with the Gospel of Christ.

Mission Statement

The Senior Adults of First Baptist Church will love one another as Christ loves us through prayer, encouragement, mutual accountability and practical ministry (John 13:34). We will model Christ-centered servant-leadership by mentoring, encouraging and serving alongside the next generation (John 13:15) as we proclaim the good news of the Gospel commanded by Christ wherever he leads us (Acts 1:8).

How Can I get involved?

  • Attend our monthly luncheons (normally the first Thursday of the month)-events are promoted on Sundays at our Resource Center, in our church newsletter, and this page.
  • Pray weekly for our youth.  We post a different youth every two weeks at our Resource Center.  Look for opportunities to serve with them.
  • Get involved in our mission opportunities to the Carl Perkins Extension Center; join our Rest Home ministries; serve at Calvary Rescue Mission; and share the Good News of Jesus Christ wherever the Holy Spirit leads.
